  • Population breakdown-The population of Japan currently is about 127.6m people as of 2012.
  • Major exports-The major exports of Japan are cars, ships, rubber, chemicals, and many more.
  • Where is Japan's main export route?-Japan mainly export to the USA.
  • Major imports-The major exports of Japan are raw materials, textiles, fuels, ect.
  • Where does Japan get their imports-Mostly the USA.
  • Currency of Japan-Yen.
  • Major trading partners with Japan-USA, China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

  • Classes-There are 8 social classes.
  • Feudalism-Feudalism first started in Europe when Henry I ruled, and moved it's way to Japan.
  • What is feudalism?-The social class structure that started in Europe and moved to Japan.
  • The social pyramid(from top to bottom)-Emperor, King, Royal Priests, Shoguns, Daimyos, Samurai, Peasants, Farmers, Artisans, Merchants, Ainu, Eta, Hinin, and Prostitutes.

Japanese buddhism

Japanese Buddhism originated in india at about 487 BC. Some the principals of the religion are:

  • Fault in others is easily seen, but the fault in ones self is hard to see.
An many others. Buddhism started at about 487 BC by a prince called the buddha. Buddhism is the wolds fourth largest religion, there are about 350,000,000 people currently practicing. Here are some facts about japanese buddhism:

  • Buddhism was started by a prince named Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha). 
  • Japanese buddhism is also called Therarad buddhism.


Shintoism

One of the Oldest shrines in Japan 
Shintoism was said to have been founded around 660 bc according to Japanese legend, Shinto means way of the gods. The word shinto originated from the Chinese word shin do, it literally translates to "spirit" and "to",  Shintoism largely revolves around nature, it is said that everything in nature is possessed by a spirit, god, or essence. Shintoism is the largest religion in japan practiced by 80% of the population, they have over 100,000 shrines and 20,000 priest.
Izanami-no-Mikoto and Izanagi-no-Mikoto

The shinto religion tells of the creation of japan. The two gods Izanami-no-Mikoto and Izanagi-no-Mikoto were called upon by the myriad gods to create a new land (which later becomes japan). first Izanami-no-Mikoto was given a spear he stirred the water with it, when he removed it from the water it dripped water and created an island. They lived on the island and built a palace with a pole in the middle,  they wished to have children, they perfumed a ritual around the pole, male to the left of the pole, female to the right. they had two island as children, they were imperfect and cast them out. They later decided they had done the ritual wrong, they repeated it and had 8 perfect island, the Japanese archipelago.

About the island Shikoku

Shikoku is a small island on the outside of Japan. Some of the Physical features of this island are:


  • The ravishing Inland Sea
  • The High, beautiful Mountain ranges 
  • And many Steep slopes
But Shikoku also has natural disaster risks, some of them are:
  • Dangerous land slides
  • Trecherous mud flows

Shikoku literally means four lands. the island Shikoku is at about 30 degrees North and 163 degrees east, it is in between the islands Honshu and Kyushu. the population is about 4,000,000 people. The weather of Shikoku is a varied climate, it is warm on the outer rim of the island, and cold in the center. Some important cities of shikoku are:


  • Ehime.
  • Kagawa.
  • Koch.
  • And Tokushima.
